Take the Money

How long, you been hangin’ around
It’s clear now we know what you want
How come, you’re always fuckin’ around
Your lips are on fire, your wallet’s burned out

I’m countin’ the stars, all the bars in town
You been hangin’ around, I’ll turn ‘em all upside down
And watch the money fall to the ground

Take the money
The seven dollars
Get the action
Stomp your feet on the ground
Take the money
Take the money to town

How long, you been hangin’ around in the mirror
Baby look what you found, now it’s clearer
For all the reasons you run…
All you really wanted was to have you some fun

I’m countin’ the stars, all the bars in town
You been hangin’ around, I’ll turn ‘em all upside down
And watch the money fall to the ground

Little Queenie

Remember meetin’ you when I was only seven
Smokin’ and drinkin’ I’d threw out a curse
To hear your voice would change the leaves in any season
You sent me runnin’ down the wrong road girl

Little queenie
Why don’t you believe me
I was your lover in your past life
Little queenie
Why don’t you believe me
Remember standin’ at the gates of heaven you and I…

When I was in school all I wanted was to see you
I’d think about you ‘till the bell would ring
The teacher’s always thought I had a problem reading
I couldn’t ever stop my day dreams now

Little queenie
Why don’t you believe me
I was your lover in your past life
Little queenie
Why don’t you believe me
Remember standin’ at the gates of heaven you and I…

I’m a Runaway (New Orleans Song)

I’m going down to New Orleans
Magic and voodoo I do seek
There with the gypsies I will be
Forbidden treasures I will see

I’m a runaway
No place to call home
I’m a runaway
Find a cheap chateau
I’m a runaway
Nobody knows
I’m goin’ down
Never will I be found

I’m gonna go to Bourbon Street
The French quarter lurks and waits for me
There I will find the key I need
To unlock its chest of mystery

I’m a runaway
Got no place to go
I’m a runaway
Find a cheap shadow
I’m a runaway
Nobody knows
I’m goin’ down
Never will I be found

When I’m on the lonely road
There’s only one place to go
Where I feel I’m not alone to sleep
There vibrations hypnotize
All my senses realize
This could be the only place for me…

I’m goin’ down to New Orleans
The secret is kept below the sea
There in the swamplands I will be
I’ll never return to my city

Duct Taped Heart

This old heart’s been ruined
A two inch gash was cut into it
When I see who did it
I’ll take away the knife they used

And make them clear their mess up
And have them write a check
To pay for what it will cost
For me to get it really fixed

The duct tape patch on the whole in my heart
I put it there to keep the blood from running out
I will need more
It still leaks a little

This old heart’s been beatin’
A two inch bruise was knocked into it
When I see who did it
It’ll take away the bat they used

And make them clean their mess up
And have them write a check
To pay for what it will cost
For me to get it really fixed

The duct tape patch on the hole in my heart
I put it there to keep the blood from running out
I will need more
It still leaks a little

It still leaks a little
With every drip
It stains the clothes I wear
It’s always there

It still leaks a little
With every drip
I think of you
And all the memories we share

And how I need my heart repaired…

How Could You Be So Cold

I caught you lyin’
I caught you cheatin’
I caught you stealin’
You’re gonna be screamin’

You better run on
Hope you can sleep tonight
Be ready to fight
If you want to stay alive
Because,

If don’t mind it
Takes forever I’ll never forgive you
Even after you’re buried I’ll hunt your soul
How could you be so cold

You’ll need a fast train
You’ll need an airplane
Might need a new face
Can’t stay too long in the same place

I’m gonna find you
I’m gonna catch you
And when I get you
You’re gonna feel pain like I do
Because,

If don’t mind it
Takes forever I’ll never forgive you
Even after you’re buried I’ll hunt your soul
How could you be so cold

Gamblin’ Barroom Blues

I went down the corner, just to meet my gal
Saw her standin’ on the sidewalk, talkin’ to my pal
I went down to the barroom to get another drink of gin
Next think I was reelin’, rockin’ and drunk again

I kept drinkin’ gin and liquor, ‘till way up in the night Then my pal came into the barroom, we had an awful fight I reached down for my razor, and we knocked around But when I pulled my pistol, I quickly smoked him down

I want to see my baby, and met her on the way
Told her I had to leave her, told her I could not stay
I went down to the station, stopped in at a bar
There I met a policeman, riding in a motorcar

We both drank lots of liquor, that flat-footed cop and I
I thought he’d never leave me, lord I thought I’d die
My baby came in to join us, and it began to rain
Then I had to hurry hurry, catch that midnight train

I laid my head on the barroom door, I’ll never get drunk again
I pawned my watch and my golden chain, I pawned my baby’s diamond ring
Police, police, police, you’re just as drunk as me
I grabbed that all eight wheeler and made for the deep blue sea

When I Get Around

You used to be such a sweet young girl
The sun was set in your eyes
But now you find yourself gettin’ around
Tellin’ only lies, butterflies in the night

When I get around just don’t follow me
We can’t be forever
When I get around just don’t go

Are all your pretty skies turning to gray
Perhaps your medicine’s runnin’ out
You’re all smiles with nothin’ to say
A dancer in the night, the clouds are all shining black

When I get around just don’t follow me
We can’t be forever
When I get around just don’t go

Like a Cave

Come with me, darkness ahead
Can you see without a light
Watch your step, don’t want to fall
Come with me, darkness ahead

Do you feel the air it is cool
Do you feel a chill in yoru bones
Trust yourself, no need for light
Do you feel a chill in your bones

Your eyes are like a cave
Can’t see what in my way
Feel around with soft persuasion
Never know when you might cave in

Come with me, I am the light
All you see is only the night
I am lost inside a maze
Nightlife moves inside a haze

All is quiet, don’t make a sound
Bats may fly if you are loud
Watch you head, might have to craw
Watch your step, don’t want to fall…

Your eyes are like a cave
Can’t see what’s in my way
Feel around with soft persuasion
Never know when you might cave in

Head on Collision

I was drivin’ on the wrong side of the road
Sixty plus miles an hour
I was up all night with my head in the clouds
The wheels were getting faster
You were drivin’ your car in the same lane
We were headed straight for each other
I took the headlights in the distance by surprise
Then it was over…

Head on collision
Fireworks in your eyes
Head on collision
Heaven’s when we collide

Just before we hit I tried to strap my belt
Didn’t quite have the time
I jerked the wheel, slammed the breaks, tried to brace myself,
Looked ahead and said goodbye
Wondered if we’d ever met, in the past
Wondered what you were like
Wondered if you had a family somewhere else
Who wondered where you were tonight…

Head on collision
Fireworks in your eyes
Head on collision
Heaven’s when we collide

You’ll be just a dream when I awake
A vision in my mind to come
How long will it be ‘till we collide
Heavens in the skies above

Bonnie and Clyde

One day we will load our guns,
Steal a car, and hit the road
No one will know where we are
‘Till they see us on the news

They’ll see the banks we robbed
They’ll watch our families cry
You and me the next Bonnie and Clyde

We don’t even need a plan
Fuck those people with their laws
Take my had I’ll show you how
Just pull the trigger now

We’ll watch us on the tubes
From our motel rooms
You and me the next Bonnie and Clyde
That’s what they’ll say
You and me the next Bonnie and Clyde

Heart Attack (Little Queenie You Give Me)

Whenever you’re out then I’m in trouble
Whenever you dance, I get hypnotized
Then my heart starts beatin’ double
The pain in my chest starts whenever I see your eyes

Little queenie
You are speeding
Up my heart so fast
That I’m havin’ trouble breathing
Little queenie you give me a heart attack

Are you paintin’ the town your favorite color
Paintin’ it with the blood of every guy
Well I’ll be the red you see tomorrow
‘Cause I could be dead before the sun will rise

Little queenie
You are speeding
Up my heart so fast
That I’m havin’ trouble breathing
Little queenie you give me a heart attack

In from the Storm

The battle’s beginning
The sky it is charging
Heavens are falling
Fires are burning
Bridges collapsing
And cars are all crashing
All of this damage
I can’t seem to manage

You’ve granted my wishes before
Though my decisions were poor
Please all I need is for this one more wish
Just to be in from the storm

A dark sky’s surrounding
The ground gets a pounding
Rain it is pouring
While tree limbs are soaring
Thunder and lightening
It all seems so frightening
The earth it is raging
Clouds they are churning

You’ve granted my wishes before
Though my decisions were poor
Please all I need is for this one more wish
Just to be in from the storm

My clothes are like sponges
I’m sick to my stomach
Cold as an ice cube
The wind won’t stop blowing
I tremble and shiver
The roads are like rivers
Valleys are flooding
Houses are crushing

You’ve granted my wishes before
Though my decisions were poor
Please all I need is for this one more wish
Just to be in from the storm

One-Stop Motel

If you’re tired, restless, and weary
If you’re in a tragic town
If you need a place for your lover
If you need to sleep save and sound

There’s one place around

The tragic city one-stop motel
Where the price is cheap and the times are swell
Anytime you want just call 205-URN-HELL

If your mind needs a little relaxing
Or you need a place to cool down
Maybe some live entertainment
Maybe a place underground

There’s one place around

The tragic city one-stop motel
Where the price is cheap and the times are swell
Anytime you want just call 205-URN-HELL

It’s a family’s wonder
It’s a bachelor’s best night out
It’s a broken heart mender
You cannot leave this town until you see

You’re Lost

So you’ve seen it alll
You look like you have seen a ghost
Only angels fall
You fly so high you must be close
In the darkness spread your wings
In the darkness you can see
See for miles there’s many things
Maybe what you see’s a dream

You’ve got the rhythm now
You must be swingin’ from a string
You’ve got it figured out
Don’t lose your grip or you will sink
It hurts to hit the ground
It hurts to hit the ceiling too
No ceiling in your sight
Your sight is only skies of blue

You’re lost
And can’t be found
No time to turn around
Nowhere you go will set you free

All great ones rise and fall
You climb a mountain then you jump
Heart the angel’s call
They scream your name say you’re the one
Bright lights surround you now
So bright they blind you cannot see
Reach out to feel around
Maybe the end has swallowed thee…
